Bottomline: Dear sister if he convinces you that condoms are unnecessarily expensive denying both of you heavenly pleasure try the opposite which often ends in tears after being impregnated, abandoned, betrayed with a pamper budget to foot all alone.

This may sound like a feminist empowerment initiative? Yes, it is one drawn from my day to day interactions with the youthful populace drawn from various circles especially young adults in their college going phase in life across all institutions of higher learning where life is to be explored free for all no parental control, absolute freedom.

Sex isn’t a topic openly discussed in our moderate conservative African Traditional Society marinated with imported Christianity religion where any mention of sex education is considered a taboo thus you may be labelled an outcast leading to forced exile somewhere in the Antarctica.

I might have to elaborate it for those who are still asleep in class. Rubber is euphemism or a polite way of referring to condoms which has multiple slangs from rubber bullets to cd which also doubles as its abbreviation. It is the most used contraceptive amongst these segment of our population thanks to advertisements, affordability and availability.

They say using it doesn’t have a satisfactory return of investment physically or emotionally compared to engaging in gland to gland warfare in between the sheets without it is way pleasurable. Pleasurable but at what cost….

Family planning methods such as injections are for those in long term relationships not these part time flings of ours which may come to a sudden end without any warning.A  simple three month separation thanks to an academic long holiday may lead to a breakup. Lets not even talk about abortion in case you accidentally become pregnant.

Ladies in their prime years should consider using nothing else other than rubber when engaging in bedroom athletics, forget about the withdrawal tactics. Withdrawal may help you avoid pregnancy though its not scientifically proven but it won’t prevent you from getting sexually transmitted infections and HIV/AIDS that’s scientifically proven.

The clandestine use of the emergency pills after every unprotected encounter has led to many unwanted pregnancies. Misuse of emergency pills leads to hormonal imbalances altering menstrual cycles sometimes leading to excessive prolonged bleeding during you bad days.

If it backfires, like in some cases boom you are pregnant, the guy who loved you isn’t ready to be a dad you are all alone with limited options. Single motherhood which will lead to temporary deferral of studies to take up motherhood responsibilities as he moves on swiftly to the next available girlfriend or the 50/50 life death maneuver called abortion that may leave you barren with everlasting guilt.

Anything that alters the hormonal composition in your body should be a no. That applies to the injections and other family planning methods whose side effects will be noticeable.

Should we blame our institutions for early pregnancies leading to increased cases of abortion? Yes! Yes! Yes! They are hiding topics on sex educations in closets therefore students are forced to go on self exploration. There should be round table discussions on contraceptive use from all quarters from the family level all the way up. A lot of sexual education. A lot, yes a lot of it! Dear parents your innocent children are sleeping around, the earlier you embrace this new order reality the better.

Dear sister if he convinces you that condoms are unnecessarily expensive denying both of you heavenly pleasure try the opposite which often ends in tears after being impregnated, abandoned, betrayed with a pamper budget to foot all alone. If he really loves you as he claims he will sheath it up always .Meanwhile, help me spread this to all college and university ladies, No rubber, No Ride.
